About Our Cattery

Ozmen Crew Cats is a boutique British Shorthair and Golden British Shorthair cattery founded by Seminay Özmen. Our journey is built on passion, discipline, and a lifelong bond with cats, raised with care, integrity, and deep respect for the breed.

Hello, I am Seminay.

If you wanted me to keep this section short, a few sentences would suffice: I am a true Virgo woman. I believe that understanding the unique language of a cat is a God-given gift to me. I love taking care of them from the moment they are born until they become wise old souls—and even after that. I take good care of cats. And sometimes, those cats become champions.

For those who don’t like reading long texts on a screen, knowing more about me might seem unnecessary. (CUT DOWN YOUR SCREEN TIME. I love you!)

But for those who want to know who they are getting a kitten from, here is my story.

Driven by Perfection I take immense pleasure in raising cat kittens as future grand champions, even when they are small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. I have developed a meticulous approach to their nutrition—so much so that I often walk around with a syringe in my hand just to ensure their nutritional doses are complete and perfect.

Perhaps only other Virgo women can understand that this is not just “cat mania,” but a pursuit of perfection. I love my zodiac sign. (I don’t believe in daily horoscopes because they rarely come true, but I like to believe I can use being a Virgo as a flag to build a global alliance of soulmates!)

How It All Started

When I adopted and started feeding my first cat in 2002, I was like a squirrel who knew no other habitat than its home and tree. Did the Little Prince have his planet and his rose? Well, I hadn’t traveled the universe yet.

I had no idea about the existence of WCF or TICA. Honestly, I didn’t care much back then. I was just wandering around libraries with the worry of “How can I feed my cat ‘Paris’ better?” In those years in Turkey, a computer was a luxury item, and I didn’t have one.

My journey, which started with Paris in 2002, took on a different dimension when I lost her in 2014, and then her friend “Çiko” (whom she didn’t like very much) in 2016. By then, I had reached a level where I could write a user manual for understanding cats. I had risen to a rank among my friends where they would say, “Hmm, my cat is meowing a lot lately, let me ask Semi before taking it to the vet.”

Those who have lost their cats will understand me; after losing them, my soul did not allow me to adopt a new kitten and raise different characters in their place.

The Return: A Dream in 2024

Until 2024. That year, I saw Paris and Çiko in my dream. They were entering my house again. In the dream, I thought, “Oh dear, I gave away the cat food bowls and litter boxes years ago! I must run to the market immediately to care for these two. But Paris and Çiko might leave before I get back from the market!” Then, I woke up.

I thought about the meaning of this dream for days. I couldn’t stand it and told the people around me. And my husband—yes, now you know I’m married (Unimportant information)—said: “Why don’t you feed cats again? Moreover, let’s do this business more professionally now. Together.”

I burst into tears and said okay. But first, I made it a condition to adopt two white cats from the shelter that looked like Paris and Çiko.

Thus, the first foundations of Ozmen Crew Cattery were laid. Afterwards, to establish a professional cattery, we welcomed Raiko and Zaira (our WCF certified cats) into our family.

With Zaira, we returned from our very first competition with the JCH (Junior Champion) title and other awards.

I also share posts on my Instagram page a few times a week. If you come there, we can talk more.

A Honest Confession & Global Communication By the way, there is something I must mention and confess here. To be honest, I do not speak English. When we need to talk, I will be supported by Artificial Intelligence and professional translation tools.

Please feel free to write to me in your own language. Be free and let technology bring hearts together. Whether you want to buy a cat or just ask a question, language is not a barrier for us.

My Goal and Philosophy

This is actually my main goal: To ensure that people from all over the world find me, using my hobby and, of course, my zodiac sign as an excuse. I have a goal to send the cats I raise to the seven continents of the world. (With reasonable fees).

Why Do I Charge an Adoption Fee? I do paid adoptions because I can feel that if I don’t place a value on the cats I raise, everyone might want to adopt them without thinking it through. But when I set a value, I know that only people who will never give up on them will write to me. It acts as a filter for finding the best homes.

Additionally, there is the “Show/Competition” side of this business, which requires financial power (travels, hotels, visa costs, entry fees, etc.). All Virgos who think objectively and humanely will understand me.

That’s all. Let’s meet.
